The "Refined" Project

Refined...there is so much behind that word...for me, it means grace, purity...a new beginning...
I am so thankful and gracious for the new beginning that the Lord has given me... that I wanted to somehow use the talents that He has given me to capture this moment in the lives of other women...the Lord laid on my heart this project and what I should call it...and it is..

 The "REFINED" Project  

I have a huge heart for women of all ages to truly know how beautiful they are from the inside out. No matter what they have been through or what their past holds...those things DO NOT define them and is in no way their identity.
So, once a month, I'll be featuring a woman that I have met, who has so boldly given me permission to share her story. With each of these women's testimonies, I pray that someone who stumbles upon my blog, will be able to relate and in someway find the grace and hope that the Lord has for them. Tomorrow I will be featuring my very first session from the "refined" project...and my prayer is that it will touch someone's life.

Teen Mom Photo Shoot with Katie Campbell Photography

It was such an honor to assist Katie Campbell Photography with her Teen Mom Photo Shoot. Her heart for these young ladies is so amazing...and when I found out that she was looking for an assistant to help put together the event, I knew immediately that I wanted to help. 

Several photographers, make-up artists and assistants, volunteered to make this a memorable event for these young moms. It was so rewarding to see these young ladies light up, knowing that they would have these memories for a lifetime. 

You'll see in the photos below, the heart and passion that went into this event...thank you to everyone that helped..I know that these teen moms will never forget it!

The "W" fam...

I'm so blessed to be apart of this family's life and capturing lifelong memories for them. I've known them for awhile now and I love seeing how much the kids have grown each time I see them. This day was could not have been more PERFECT for their session...we went to the park and just had fun!

Boys, boys, boys....

You may recognize the little one from the previous post. I was asked by mama to come and capture Kolby..with his 3 other brothers...yep..4 boys! We had so much fun...I love lifestyle photo sessions because I get to capture people in their familiar surroundings...there is just something a little more relaxed...like um..jumping on the bed! The boys had a blast, they had so much fun showing off for the camera.

I asked each of the boys to go grab their favorite toy...the oldest came back with his light sabers, the youngest came back with his airplane...and the middle one...came back with a laptop..I was cracking up!

Again..this family is so precious to me...not only clients but great friends. I love that I get to be apart of their lifetime memories!

...just have to clarify...I did not photoshop him into the photo..he jumped in the air like that!...too funny!

The birth of baby Kolby...

 Capturing a birth story will always be my favorite...nothing against any of my other photo sessions...but there is just something about births....maybe it's the adrenaline that I get when "it's time"....I don't know...but I love it.  I was so blessed to capture the birth story of baby Kolby Rivers.  

Even though it was a planned C-section, there was still so much to capture...the love that this family has for one another is so obvious...I caught myself laughing and crying l processing these photos. Being that I was not allowed to go into the O.R...I went out on a limb and asked the dad if he would mind taking my second camera in with him...to my surprise...he was game!! So, I just set it on auto for him...and the images that he captured were amazing!
